Lladro Authenticity
How do you Know if you have an Authentic Lladro?
An authentic Lladro porcelain figurine will have the Lladro logo of the Blue Bell or Blue Tulip the
name Lladro and will say "Made in Spain." Note that the logo's have changed somewhat over the years but here
are a few examples of what they look like:
Also beware of any seller that won't show these logos to you.
You can also go to the main Lladro.com website and using their 'contact us' form submit your question on
authenticity. They may require you to send the serial number of the piece, pictures of the piece or other
reference information, but their verification is done for free.
A Lladro piece that is described with the words 'retired' or 'active' are commonly used to describe pieces
that can significantly increase in value, however make sure you look up the piece on the website first as many
sellers can get confused about what pieces are actually retired.
Pay special attention to the Lladro marks of the porcelain. The Lladró figurines are popular for their
smooth, flowing bodies and unique facial characteristics. These are the things that make them so recognized
with in the collectibles community.
An authentic Lladró piece will not have black outline to the eyes, brows or eyelids. If you notice
these characteristics on a 'so called' Lladro figurine it will most likely be a fake.
Hire an appraiser to authenticate your Lladro piece by getting in touch with a local store that sells
Lladro. The store themselves may not always be able to authenticate it for you but they can put you in
touch with someone who can.
